Tuesday
The hair, the smell, the lingering bliss;
the night alone, no word nor call —
your shower cloth, still wet, skin-kissed,
o’er breakfast hangs, a silent pall.
This is just a reverie,
or else a bout of inattention,
that brings about this silent plea:
come back to dwell in my affection.
